Fuller Sports Club and Brothers Leagues Club are proud to be supporting Movember as a key sponsor in their 2021 Campaign and in particular, the Run 30 for Movember challenge.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. The organisation aims to raise awareness and provide support to men in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. So far, Movember have helped to fund over 1,250 men’s health projects globally, challenging social norms for men surrounding emotional openness, funding for men’s health research and improving the way health services reach and support men, just to name a few!
Movember was founded in 2003, when two Melbourne friends gathered a group of just 30 men to participate in the first ever Movember fundraiser for men’s health and prostate cancer. In 2004, the men made it an official concept and opened the fundraiser to all. Now, in 2021, Movember has witnessed over 6 million participants growing their Mo’s for men’s health, with particular focus in mental heath and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, as well as helping to fund men’s health projects globally.
Run 30 for Movember is just one of these projects! Benjamin Anderson, father of 2 teenage sons, started this project in 2019 with pure determination to create a world where his sons can be open about their feelings and express their emotions. The project is a challenge where members will run 465kms in 30 days to raise awareness and funds towards the Movember initiative. Fuller Sports Club is passionate about supporting our community in any way we can and are proud to be taking action towards improving men’s health by providing funds towards Movember and the Run 30 for Movember project!
